"We're just girls who..." - a common
line I've always seen around the internet. It was just a simple phrase but it
means something worthy especially to me who's also a girl. Well, we are definitely unique
from each other, we have different characteristics and some of us can't even
understand the attitude of the other but still there are a lot of things that
we girls have in common and also languages that only us can truly understand.
Being a girl is not
as easy as some see it because of the privileges that we get like sitting
comfortably in a public vehicle although we're not the first comer and being
served first anywhere as the quote we believed in says "ladies
first". Yes, I admit that most of the times, we get those special
treatments but it doesn't mean that we know nothing about hardships and pains.
We had gone through various problems and passed many challenges but most of us
can still talk and laugh like there’s nothing wrong, right? Are you familiar
with the saying “Silence is the girl’s loudest cry”? Isn’t it so ironic? But
definitely it makes sense. Being talkative and loud is a normal quality of us
because aside from expressing ourselves, that’s the easiest way we see to somehow
stop overthinking and escape for a while from our problems.
If only men could read
the sadness in our eyes that lies behind the fake smiles that we tend to have,
I think they won’t play with any girls out there anymore. Why also in life, girls
are always blamed for. If a boy cheats on her girl, it’s a normal thing but if
it’s a way around, it seems that the society hates the girl. Why is a boy considered
friendly if he bonds with a circle of girls, and a girl is flirt already if she’s
with boys? Why there are a lot of things expected to girls?
We’re just girls who
sometimes became nagger. We’re just girls who are sensitive. We’re just girls
who are known to be demanding. We’re just girls who love being childish. We’re
just girls who have our flaws and weaknesses but I think it is not right to
always say we’re just girls, because we are not just something, girls are
everything. We’re girls who should be proud and thankful because God made us
this way, not maybe perfect but absolutely worth-having.
